Some of the dreams and nocturnal adventures described in the first part of my book, Past Life Dreamwork, (Bear and Company/Inner Traditions, 2008) which initially was self-published under the title Bloodlines of the Soul (IUniverse, 2005) go back to the time when as a student at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich I was working on the German translation of Jane Roberts' Seth Speaks (Ariston, 1979) and The Nature of Personal Reality (Ariston, 1983), while carrying on a correspondence with the authors. Both books became instant bestsellers in the German speaking world, spawning Seth groups and Seth conferences in these countries, especially in Switzerland where the books were being published.

My intimate work with Jane's trance material, which sometimes made me feel like the medium of the medium must have opened up new inner dimensions for me. I became swamped with otherworldly dream material, which, according to Jungian theory, would normally have been a sign of my impending death. At one point, I became so frightened by this material that I sent it to Jane Roberts for an evaluation. In a reassuring letter, which is quoted in full in Past Life Dreamwork , she allayed all my fears with a stroke of her pen.

I seem to belong to a group of people who experience past life recall in dreams. This had forced me to accept reincarnation as a given even before my first contact with the Seth material. It had also made me aware of a different kind of dream that had escaped the attention of dream researchers before.

Yet there can be no doubt that without Seth's revelations about the past life imprints of the animus/anima archetypes and the non-sequential nature of our lifetimes my understanding of the reincarnational process would have been deficient. Furthermore, without a visionary dream, which had been triggered by a passage in Seth Speaks, I would never have embarked on my own past life journey, which was later to become the foundation for my integrative past life work and for my book.

In Santa Fe, I practiced past life therapy for many years only behind the scenes, because of professional considerations. But when the case material I encountered became too compelling, I felt obligated go public with my work. Past Life Dreamwork is the quintessence of thirty years of personal and professional experience with past life dreams and past life integration. Since it is my personal legacy, I do not plan to write another book on the subject. But I will continue to offer professional guidance to fellow travellers whose soul development requires that they integrate the experience of other lifetimes.
