Seth World News
Dateline Forever
1. We need your help, Seth readers! In order to get the best possible placement in a Google (et al) search, it helps considerably if we're in your Favorites/Bookmark listings; and if you have a website, we're linked to it. Do please help us get the maximum exposure worldwide for the Seth/Jane Roberts network we're establishing together. Appreciate you and your support!
2. Do consider entering your name into our Email List. We send out a newsy update twice a month with the latest happenings in the world of Seth. Usually they arrive in your mail box on the first and 15th. And like we say on the sign-up form, the list will absolutely never be sold, rented or loaned. But the importance of our Email List cannot be overstated. It seriously helps us better understand the demographics of Seth readers, and once our email list reaches a certain size, we'll be able to tell the most populated Seth-reader areas around the globe, track growth in any country in the world, and tell more about the age range of Seth readers. This information will be very helpful in many ways, not the least of which is in getting the Seth/Jane books published in certain languages, identifying active areas for producers of Seth conferences and workshops, and helping SNI to make suggestions to local residents about the viability of forming Seth groups.
* Note: If you joined the Email List and never receive our emails, it's because your registration failed or your address has started bouncing. Please re-enter your info again, folks!

Dateline July 29, 2010: NEWSY EMAIL FROM SNI
(Following is an email we sent today to our database, and for those of you not on our address list, we thought we'd like you to see it.)
Greetings Seth Readers, I hope this note finds you happy, healthy and optimistic. Which leads into a marvelous Seth quote, good for our private as well as world lives. (Nov. 29, 1978, Personal Sessions, Vol. 5. The spacing is mine for emphasis).
"Natural optimism is a power in the individual and in the world. It believes...
in triumph
in pleasant, unpredictable surprises
in unexpected solutions
in joyful occurrences.
It is like the child’s anticipation of Christmas Eve,
and it is biologically ingrained."
Last month in a fit of unbridled optimism, I launched Seth Talk on our SNI website. I am happy to say my natural optimism paid off. Thanks, folks! What a pleasant, unpredictable surprise! And while we're on the subject of the triumphant launch of Seth Talk, I'll mention that Entry #2 is now posted. We're still on the subjects of action, the three creative dilemmas and identity, but now there are many Seth quotes to dive into, the first of eleven quote docs to come.
Ahhh, but Seth Talk's triumph isn't the only joyful occurrence lately in the Sethian world. Feast your eyes on these tidbits:
* Thought you might want to check out SNI's photo gallery. I recently uploaded a 1996 shot of Rob with seven of us (six in the picture, one behind the camera) during a visit to Elmira. I also posted one of Rob in front of the Water Street apartment taken that same weekend, as well as one of Jane from Rob's personal collection (although it's been published before). To see them, go to the Gallery > Seth Friends and Just Plain Fun, to its last page).
* Another great photo to check out in the Gallery shows a painting by Don Hutchinson. It's a composite picture of Rob's well-known paintings of Seth and Jane in the background, and a photo of Rob from SethNet '97 Elmira in the foreground. Don and his wife Dorcas had prints made of this truly marvelous work and graciously gave one to SNI. (Again, go to the last page of the Gallery to see it.)
* Hey, Downunder! Australia now has a Seth Group! As does the Netherlands! I'm happy to say SNI played a role in the formation of these groups by getting their coordinators in touch with Seth readers in each country via our email database. And we'd be pleased to do it for you, too. We can't zero in by city, just state, province or country, but it starts the interest brewing. To learn more about groups old and new, go to Seth Groups/Networks. And note the great outdoor photo of the Dutch folks on their first get-together.
* More pleasantly triumphant news, this time for our German-speaking Seth friends. Maurizio Vogrig (Switzerland) sent us a copy of their first newly designed magazine, Multidimensional Reality, and it is beautifully crafted. Their second edition is at the printers as we speak. For more info, go to Seth-Friendly Businesses and look for "Swiss Seth Readers Publish Seth Books and Magazine."
* German-speaking Sethies, another tidbit for you. The annual International Seth conference (in Zurich this year) is on October 22/24. Its two themes: The Magical Approach and Hypnosis. They've invited a famous hypnotist to do both a show and a workshop, which should be a joyful occurrence. :-) Learn more about the conference at Seth Conferences/Workshops. Their link also takes you to an English version of the conference information.
* And still on the subject of pleasant and optimistic conferences, don't forget the upcoming Colorado Seth Conference Sept. 9/13, with a theme of Listening: What Stories Do You Hear?; the West Coast Seth Conference Oct. 23/24, with a theme of Celebrating Seth; and the East Coast Seth Conference Nov. 13/14, with the same theme as the West, Celebrating Seth. Learn more about these joyful events at Seth Conferences/Workshops.
* Jeff Kiefer, our friend and developer of Seth Space (now with 550 members!), tells us the site has been upgraded and expanded to include features such as the ability to: directly connect with your Facebook page; synchronize your Seth Space information with your stuff on Facebook; create events and invite folks to your event; and more features are coming in the future. Seth Space really is a terrific site, guys. Just reading the threads is a kick! (Breaking news: just before we sent this email, Jeff told us the site was down due to hackers. The system message says, "Your Account Has Been Suspended." Ignore it! For status updates on the situation, go to our site and click on the tab Seth Space/Seth Singles.)
* And for you patient single Sethies, Jeff says the software he's been awaiting has just been released and is in testing. Once he knows it's stable, he will start development of Seth Singles. It will most likely take months to complete, given Jeff's busy schedule, but he said we can hope to see it before the end of the year. Keep the faith, guys, and know that unexpected solutions are on the way! (For Seth Single status updates, go to our site and click on the tab Seth Space/Seth Singles.)
Now that I have built your anticipation of a visit to our SNI site equal to that of a child's anticipation of Christmas Eve, I'll sign off. Oh, one more thing. As I mentioned in the last email, if you're on Facebook do drop by my site (Lynda Madden Dahl) and meet some other Sethies. Good quotes being thrown out all over the place!
Take care, everybody, and keep that natural optimism flowing!
Hugs and good cheer from Southern California,
Lynda
Dateline July 1, 2010: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SNI! -- & WELCOME TO SETH TALK!
(Following is an email we sent today to our database, and for those of you not on our address list, we thought we'd like you to see it.)
Happy birthday to SNI! Sweet one year old and growing like a weed - an old American saying, international folks. :-) We started with a blank slate on July 1, 2009, and now ... a drum roll, please ... have email readers in 46 countries; 150 directory listings; 295 Gallery photos; 43 news items in Seth World News; and almost 20,000 visitors this year. We've corresponded one-on-one with hundreds of Seth readers around the globe, created and held two Seth-intensive weekend workshops, and brought you twice-monthly newsy emails for most of the year. It has been a fulfilling, interesting and very busy time.
Speaking of busy, in our last email to you we talked about how both Michael and I were in overload due to other professional commitments beyond SNI, and because of it would have to reorganize - which we did, partially by dropping the last two of four scheduled weekend workshops. But since then Michael has doubled down on "busy" by accepting a terrific position with a company 2,100 miles from his and Mary's home in Eugene, Oregon, necessitating a heavy travel schedule between home and corporate office, to say nothing of riding an impelling learning curve. In order to stay completely sane, Michael has had to cut back even further on his time devoted to SNI. Which means a couple things: we will not launch an SNI Facebook page this summer, as announced in the last email, and probably will not offer many Seth World News write-ups about specialized items and people that reach our attention.
So what I'll be doing with Seth Talk, among other things, is posting some of these quotes, nested together into a composite picture of what Seth says about certain subjects, such as action (also called the vitality of All That Is, or the crux of creation), or the spacious present (the only place where action happens), or significances (the true cause and effect, and brought about by action [thought, expectation, etc.] and happening in the spacious present, because that's the only time there is). Etcetera, etcetera. I'll post a new entry periodically (hopefully at least once a month), and those of you on our email list will get a heads-up when one appears.
So, to kick off Seth Talk, the first offering is now on our website. It's a long one because I wanted to give you some background about the purpose of the first grouping of Seth subjects to be reviewed over time and where they will eventually lead us. I hope Seth Talk will prove to be an intriguing journey through the Seth material from a different perspective than reading the books one at a time from cover-to-cover allows us, because the subjects and their content will be gathered from all books yet will be topic specific.
And how could I close without waving the flag for the coming of Seth Singles? Jeff Kiefer, its wizard of creation, tells us it's hopefully on the horizon for later this summer. So hang in there, single Sethies, it's solidifying in Framework 2 as we speak!
(Following is an email we sent today to our database, and for those of you not on our address list, we thought we'd like you to see it.)
Hi, Lynda here. Michael and I have learned a lot in the almost 11 months of the new SNI’s existence. One thing is that there is a very large contingent of Seth/Jane readers spread across the globe, many with no direct tie to other Seth readers. We’ve also learned that Seth readers in general are very much interested in some level of communication with others of like mind. And thanks, of course, to today’s online technologies, the vehicles are in place that allow communications great and small to happen.
Another thing we’ve learned is that SNI is well positioned to become over time a major focal point for Seth readers, a place to check into occasionally for the latest news about the world of Seth and where to find other Seth outlets, such as websites, blogs, conferences, articles, businesses, etc. We believe this to be the case because of the many thousands of visitors to our site since its inauguration and the fast growth of our email database.
And what Michael and I have also learned is that the SNI workload, even in our still formative beginning, is significant. Compounding the workload at present is the fact that both Michael and I run other companies that demand much of our time; and also that we’ve announced and launched four 2010 weekend-long workshops in the U.S. The planning, preparation and content creation of the workshops has taken dozens of hours, and as we saw with our first workshop two weeks ago in San Mateo, CA, each workshop will actually take a minimum six days of our time – two for the class itself, two travel days, and at least one prep day before leaving town and another when we return.
There is actually a point to telling you all of this. :-) We’d like you to know our short-range plans as well as give you a glimpse of what the future holds. First, we want to announce that our second workshop (in Boston on May 22-23) will be our last - we’re canceling Portland and L.A. The time we’ve already devoted to the workshop program has significantly limited our ability to stay on top of SNI, let alone promote its growth. And where the workshops reach a relatively small number of people, SNI overall has the potential to reach the world of Seth readers. Ergo, our reprioritizing.
Which brings me to what is next for Seth Network - its growth, partially defined as finding the alone global Seth readers and introducing them to a world of like minds. Which is what we’ve been doing these past 11 months, but soon even more so. To help find them, this summer we will launch an SNI Facebook page that guides them to SNI’s website; and once found, we want to offer them (and you oldies) more content on our SNI site, especially more news bulletins, articles and introductions to Seth folks (such as we’ve done in past emails and in Seth World News). There’s more, and we’ll get back to you later with those plans. For now we just wanted to give you a brief overview and explain the cancellation of the two workshops. (By the way, my personal Facebook page is found under Lynda Madden Dahl, and you’re invited to drop by for a visit.)
And don’t forget Seth Singles is coming this summer! (Like you could possibly forget, what with our constant reminders – LOL!) Here’s to the singles of the Sethian world. Their day is coming…. Go Seth!
Dateline April 18, 2010: A SPRINGTIME HELLO FROM SNI
(Following is an email we sent today to our database, and for those of you not on our address list, we thought we'd like you to see it.)
Hi Seth Friends: It has been well over a month since we sent you one of our newsy emails - a long interlude, historically speaking. And we're sorry to say this one is only a stop-gap until things calm down in my So. California-based life and Michael's Oregon-focused one (with wife Mary Rouen). Part of the restive nature of current events is because our first 2010 SNI weekend workshop launches next week in San Mateo, and you can imagine the workload that generates. And the fact that Michael and I each run companies not associated with SNI - both of which seem to be in hyper-drive at the moment - limits our (linear) time.
But because SNI has had so many new folks sign up via email, we did want to welcome our newbies, say hello to our oldies, and wish everyone a very pleasant spring. Some of you we'll see in San Mateo next weekend or in Boston on May 22-23 (early bird special price ends April 22), and we're seriously looking forward to sharing with you laughs, serious discussion, and even a drink or two in the evenings. :-) And we'll be back online with more newsy emails for all of you down the road. (Who can forget our exciting coming announcement of Seth Singles?!)
So, that's it for now, folks. Talk to you when things calm down. And never forget our rallying cry - Go Seth!
The best of everything, Lynda (Dahl) and Michael) Steffen
Dateline March 15, 2010: YOUNG ADULTS AND SETH, COMING TOGETHER SOON
In our website's home page intro letter, we say one of the desires of SNI is to find the youthful Seth readers, or what we consider young adults (teens through 20s). But we don't only want to just find them, we want to bring them together with each other. The project, long latent in our minds, took on greater significance in early March at the California Seth Conference when Paul Giurlanda, professor at St. Mary's College in San Francisco, gave a talk on how he brought Seth to the attention of his mostly Catholic students during his course "New Age Spirituality in America." (See Seth World News, Dateline Feb. 1: Seth Goes to College.) The frosting on the cake of Paul's conference talk was when he introduced four of his students and asked them to talk about their experience with the Seth material. None of them had been into "new age" when the course began, and most took the class because it filled a requirement for graduation. But after reading a couple chapters of The Seth Material, to a person they found themselves more drawn to Seth's ideas than to the objective academic paper they had to write on the book; and all are now actively reading Seth.
What struck us most, beyond the obvious implications of what the young people said, was that Paul's students were lucky. They had each other among which to bounce ideas, concerns and understandings as they grapple with the material. Many, probably most, young adult Seth readers don't know another person reading the books, let alone anyone their age. It started us thinking about what we can do on our website to facilitate meetings and conversations between this age group. We haven't laid out a plan yet, but at least it's percolating now. So stay tuned, folks. We'll get back to you when Seth Young Adults becomes a reality!
Dateline March 14, 2010: A FABULOUS SNI WORKSHOP OFFER FOR YOUNG SETH READERS
As part of our desire to get young Seth readers together to discuss the material, we're pleased to announce that SNI is offering a free registration to Seth readers under the age of 22 to any of our 2010 "Living a Safe Universe" workshops (see Workshops for further detail). If you know of a young adult who might enjoy participating in one of our events, please have them check out the information posted on our site, and make them aware that we will be in San Mateo, April 24-25; Boston, May 22-23; Portland, July 17-18; and Los Angeles, 21-22. If they're interested, have them write us at
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
and we'll send them special registration information. We'd love to see young readers participate in what we believe will be electrifying and inspiring events, and have them share with readers of all ages the heady sense of pioneering the Seth material toward breakthrough understandings that have very practical import on our lives. Perhaps you might consider joining us as well. :-) Go Seth!
Dateline March 10, 2010: SWISS SETH READERS TAKE ACTION WHEN BOOK INTEREST WANES
In 1979, the first Seth book in German was published, soon followed by others. The books caught the attention of folks in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and in 1981 were so popular that readers formed the International Seth Organization in Switzerland, offering annual conferences - still in effect - in one of those three countries. But the public's interest eventually waned and the large publishing houses lost interest in the Seth books. Then, in 1999, Swiss Ursula Lang met Rob Butts at SNI's Elmira conference, and a Ouija board session convinced Rob that it was time to renew publishing efforts in German. Upon returning home, Ursula teamed with Maurizio Vogrig and formed Seth Publishing Company. To date they've published all nine of The Early Sessions, The God of Jane, and Sue Watkins' Speaking of Jane Roberts, with more to come. And this April they will rejuvenate online The Multidimensional Reality, the magazine of the International Seth Organization. And what drives Maurizio and Ursula to commit so much time and effort to their projects? Their strong desire to help revive interest in the Seth material. ** It's quite a story and can be read in both Seth-Friendly Businesses and Other Seth Sites under "Swiss Seth Readers Publish Seth Books and Magazine." Our hats are off to you, Ursula and Maurizio! You guys are great!
Dateline February 26, 2010: LIVING THE SAFE UNIVERSE YET?
A reminder to come join us in the San Francisco Bay Area April 23-24, folks, for the first of four US workshops offered by Seth Network. Its topic: Living the Safe Universe: Trust and Its Pivotal Role in Conscious Creation. Go to Workshops for details, folks, especially about the Early Bird special price.

A big event is approaching for the Sethian Chinese community. On February 12 and 15-17, Dr. Tieng-sheng Hsu, a medical doctor, psychiatrist and author from Taiwan, will be speaking at free lectures in the Los Angeles area; and will also offer Seth classes and workshops for a fee. Dr. Hsu has been reading Seth for over 15 years and in 2008 started the Seth Education Foundation. (He is also a past president of the Chinese New Age Society.) You can read Dr. Hsu's bio in Seth-Based Articles, as well as an article written by him about the work he's done with cancer using Sethian ideas; and you can see many photos in the Gallery > Seth Groups/Networks > Taiwan Seth Education Foundation. Dateline February 11, 2010: A NEW YORK BOY WRITES ABOUT HIS ESP CLASS EXPERIENCES
Interested in learning what it was like to experience Seth Class first hand? Meet Rich Kendall, one of the NY Boys who is writing a retrospective of the time he spent in Jane’s ESP class in the 1970s. Rich is a fabulous writer and speaker who has been involved with the Seth material in many capacities. From publishing books to producing videos to writing and speaking, Rich has been intimately involved with the material since first attending class. Recently he spoke at the annual Swiss International Seth Conference, and has posted on our site an intriguing set of insights from that conference that goes beyond just a discussion of activities in ESP class. These reflections, found in Seth-Based Articles and titled Viva la Différence, provide an insightful perspective about people, beliefs and the richness found in our differing perspectives. In his upcoming book, Seth Speaks to Me, Rich reports on his experiences during class and on the long journeys back and forth from NYC to Elmira each week. A sample chapter of this work in process is posted in Seth-Based Articles, with the same title as his book. Rich is considering self publishing the work, but would be happy to respond to prospective publishers. Do stop by his website at www.richkendall-productions.com and meet our good friend.
Dateline February 1, 2010: SETH GOES TO COLLEGE!
Have you ever wondered how Seth’s influence might find its way into some of our mainstream religious and educational institutions? Well, wonder no longer. We have found at least one example in the person of Paul Girulanda. Paul is a former (24-year) De La Salle Christian Brother who is a professor at St. Mary's College of California in San Francisco. Following a powerful past life regression, he started reading Seth and, after a time, got hooked. His interest in the material led him to include Seth as a featured part of a course he recently taught on “New Age Spirituality in America”. The account of how things went is contained in a “must read” article (as titled above) in Directory > Seth-Based Articles, in which Paul describes “… what happens when you give 15 healthy college students a copy of The Seth Material and require them to read it.” It is a fabulous story. And the associated listing contains more about Paul’s intriguing background. Don’t miss it! (FYI, Paul is to be the master of ceremonies and a speaker at the California Seth Conference in the San Francisco area March 6-7.)
Dateline January 15, 2010: A BLOW-YOUR-SOCKS-OFF SNI WORKSHOP COMING SOON
Just three months to the first of four Seth Network workshops for the year, folks. Those of you with SNI in the 1990s may have attended our very popular Consciously Creating Change workshops. Trust us when we say our new one will blow your socks off. If you heard Lynda’s talk at the 2009 conferences in Maine, San Francisco area, L.A or NYC, you already know what we mean, because the upcoming two-day workshops are meat for the bones of that “electrifying, groundbreaking” discussion [per the attendees' comments, honest :-)]. You can check out the workshop description and cities/dates at Workshops. Hope to see you in person this year!
Speaking of Lynda’s 2009 conference talk, the good folks at California Seth Conference (CASC) have just released a DVD of it. All of the proceeds go to CASC – that is, neither SNI nor Lynda financially benefits. We decided we’d rather help the fledging conference (their second is in March) stay around for a long, long time, and all donations help such efforts. And if you’re planning to attend one of the SNI workshops this year, do consider buying the DVD as either an intro to Lynda’s ideas or as a conference refresher. To learn more, click on Directory > Conferences/Workshops > California Seth Conference. (By the way, Lynda will be speaking at their March conference about the safe universe and living in trust.)
Dateline January 13, 2010: SETH SINGLES COMING VALENTINE’S DAY!
What could be more symbolically perfect for the single Seth reader than seeing Seth Singles launched on Valentine’s Day?! Jeff Kiefer, owner of the popular social networking site SethSpace (and web developer for SNI) has chosen February 14 to launch his latest brainchild. And Jeff’s looking for input on what you single Sethies would like to see on the site; that is, what profile questions would suit your needs. What info do you think is important to know about a prospective romantic partner? What Seth-oriented questions would you like to see asked in order to determine compatibility? Etc. To respond to Jeff, click on SethSpace/Singles. Once you’re on SethSpace, go to Forums.
Dateline January 4, 2010: A HEARTFELT GOOD-BYE TO A SETHIAN FRIEND
On January 3, Carol Funk, long-time member of the Seth community and founding member of the Colorado Seth Conference, passed on. Her intelligence and wit, to say nothing of her good heart, endeared her to many of us. May her husband of many decades, Jim, and their family find peace of mind soon, and may the rest of us wish her well on her journey forward – with our deepest, sincerest regret that her journey forward came too soon for us. A most moving video has been created by her grandnephew Chris Colvard, which brings Carol to life once again, if only in our imaginings. It is on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com//video/video.php?comments=&v=241329044308. Godspeed, Carol, from so very many of us, your friends.
Dateline January 1, 2010: SETH'S NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS
It just would not be a proper New Year if someone didn't post Seth's resolutions. So, we are assuring the continuation of a wonderful tradition by providing an article that contains the four resolutions that Seth suggested to Jane and Rob on January 1, 1979. They provide a compelling reminder for all of us that one's focus creates, and that we can change our lives by changing our minds. While they get special mention on New Year’s Day, we should also remember that they are good reading on many other occasions throughout the year. These timeless gems may be found in the document file under the listing with this title in Directory > Seth-Based Articles. Enjoy!
Dateline December 15, 2009: HAPPY HOLIDAYS, SETH FRIENDS!
We want to wish you a splendid holiday season, full of good cheer and peaceful minds. And if you'd like a dose of Seth, we've posted "Christmas with Seth" in Seth-Based Articles, a compilation of some things Seth offers us about the season and our place in it. For instance, "Look at the Christmas tree; your cells and molecules shine a million times more brightly. Your eyes glitter with far greater light. You are love in corporeal form. You do not have to look for it or wonder where to find it or give it in packages with bright ribbon. You are packages with bright ribbon." After the holidays are over, we'll remove the document from the archives until December 2010, and then bring it back in its lovely gift wrap of words that resonate around the world. - Merry Christmas, Seth and Jane and Rob!
Dateline December 1, 2009: SETH SINGLES, ANYONE?
At the last two conferences of 2009 (LA and NYC), the subject of single Seth readers attempting to find a partner who is compatible with their thinking came up in casual small group conversations. Actually, it's come up over the years, and this time we decided to do something about it. Enter our own Jeff Keifer, the web genius behind the development of our Seth Network site, as well as SethSpace (the social networking place for Sethies) and the California Seth Conference site. Jeff was very enthusiastic about the idea of establishing a meeting place for single Seth readers along the lines of, say, Match.com, and has indeed now secured SethSingles.com as its URL. Look for something in the first quarter of 2010 - which, of course, we'll bring to your awareness when it's ready to announce. Go Single Sethies!
Dateline November 30, 2009: JANE'S ESP CLASS MEMBERS EXPOSED!
We are pleased to announce a new Gallery section featuring photos from ESP class members, both then and now. Check out the new "Jane’s ESP Class Members" category for photos recently posted by Barrie Gellis (and a few others), one of the “New York Boys”. His pictures feature some of the regulars who made the weekly trip from NYC to Elmira for class each week. Barrie is a poet and writer who is active in the online Seth community and recently spoke at the East Coast Seth Conference. He has posted some of his writings in our Seth-Based Articles (including his conference presentation), listed both his blog and message board in our Blogs and Discussion Groups, and has a listing for his poetry book in Seth-Influenced Media. We very much appreciate Barrie’s contribution to our idea for a Gallery category just for Jane's class, and know you will enjoy it immensely as it expands over time. Keep your eye on it, folks.

Dateline November 26, 2009: NANCY ASHLEY'S BACK ON OUR RADAR!
Good news for those of you around the Seth material in the 1980s. Nancy Ashley, one of the first authors to take the Seth material and make it "practical" in her three workbooks (Create Your Own Reality, Create Your Own Happiness, and Create Your Own Dreams), is considering another book, this time possibly on what Seth says about the emerging new species of consciousness. Whatever Nancy decides to write, count on it being excellent. (BTW, she's still living in Hawaii.) And as far as her iconic workbooks are concerned, while they have been out of print for years they are thankfully now available on Amazon in used format. Go to Seth-Influenced Media and look for the listing, "Three Seth Workbooks by Nancy Ashley," for what she has to say about them, and then check out Amazon. Do yourselves a favor, folks!
Dateline November 15, 2009: SETH & JANE ROBERTS ENGLISH LANGUAGE BOOK LISTING
Check out the listing of this name in the Seth-Based Articles section to find a file containing a list of titles and the latest/current publishers of the English language versions of the Seth/Jane Books. As we responded to inquiries from newer Seth readers concerning requests for Seth book lists and related publication information, we realized that it would benefit readers new and old to have a listing of the Seth and Jane books in a separate article on our site to which we could refer these types of questions. So, we created one! We hope that it will help those new to the material learn about books of which they might be unaware. It can also serve as a guide to longer term readers who may wish to fill out their collection. In the future, we will also be providing information on foreign language translations for our non English speaking friends.
Dateline November 14, 2009: THE ATMOSPHERIC PRESENCE: A PSY-TIME DOCUMENT
Hello Seth friends, Lynda Dahl here. When all is said and done, without an innate, integrated faith and trust in ourselves, in All That Is, and in the nature of reality, we can read the Seth material until the cows come home and still create an unsafe universe for ourselves. On my personal journey into “safety,” I created a Psy-time document of excerpts from William James’ comments in Jane's book, The Afterdeath Journal of an American Philosopher, about the atmospheric presence. James is talking from his position after death, but I intuitively knew each comment was as relevant to me, alive and well in a physical reality, as to him. And I knew if I could truly see and experience what James saw and experienced, then it would ever so naturally become the beginning of my platform of safety in life. It has been more beneficial than I can express. This Psy-time document can be found in Seth-Based Articles.

Dateline October 31, 2009: AND THE BEAT GOES ON....AND THE BEAT EXPANDS
All Seth conferences and workshops are extraordinary in their energy and exuberance. How could they not be, when Sethies hungry for connection to, and discussion with, other Seth readers come together? On October 24-25, Rick Stack, publisher of many Seth books and producer of Seth conferences and workshops, held his first annual West Coast Seth Conference in Los Angeles, and it was unique in an important respect. It brought together folks from other current Seth affiliated groups for the first time in person, and symbolically displayed a glimpse of the cooperation and camaraderie emerging in today's Sethian world. Dawn and Morgan McKay, committee members with the Colorado Seth Conference, were there, as was Lawrence Davidson, the producer of the California Seth Conference (and an ESP class member). And our own Michael Steffen and Lynda Dahl were happy to be participating, along with Anne Marie O'Farrell (literary agent for the Seth books and Rick's wife) and some of Jane's ESP class folks. Jeff Kiefer's SethSpace was also represented by several people, and from the local scene came Gilbert Anaya, founder of the L.A. Seth Group, and some of his group friends. ** Expect to see more and more of this combined, shared focus on growing our global Seth community and enjoying the heck out of the ride forward, together.
Dateline October 31, 2009: AND THE BEAT EXPANDS....TO ORANGE COUNTY
What can come of Seth readers attending conferences and workshops solely directed to the Seth material? Seth groups, the heart of the Sethian global community. Lynda Dahl lives Orange County. Because of significant interest at the L.A. West Coast Seth Conference by Orange County attendees, Lynda scheduled a get-to-know-you dinner for November 8, and it will also include members of Lynda's new Seth Meet-Up group. You can read more about this emerging Orange County group in Seth Groups/Networks, and while you're there, do explore the other listings to see if there's a Seth group in your area. And if not, think about starting one like these folks have done through their listings: Tom and Judy Ewing (Maine), Jude Todd (Santa Cruz, CA), Larry Hause (Minneapolis), and Francois de Mecquenem (Paris). ** Go Seth!
Dateline October 27, 2009: THE LAST SETH CONFERENCE OF THE YEAR!
They're almost all over, folks. Only one Seth conference out of six is left in the year 2009, and it's the East Coast Seth Conference in NYC Nov. 21-22. To learn more about this last possibility of the season, click on Conferences and Workshops. ** Hope to see you there!
Dateline October 15, 2009: TWO SNI 2010 WORKSHOPS READY FOR REGISTRATION
Two of our four recently announced Seth intensive workshops for 2010 are now open for registration, with full pricing, hotel and other information posted in Workshops, our new tab between Gallery and Bookstore. We're starting in San Mateo in April, and then moving on to Boston, Portland and Los Angeles. Our topic is "Trust and its Pivotal Role in Conscious Creation," and as we say in our workshop description, according to Seth trust is the one ingredient that is mandatory in order to create consciously and sustain a reality that pleases us. So we will look at the Seth material through more perceptive eyes, first identifying Seth’s concepts that stress to us that we are not primarily human consciousness in linear time, but wholly non-physical consciousness using linear time for our own purposes – and why that difference in thought makes all the difference to trust...and conscious creation. And then we will move on to the practical implications of what Seth is saying and how to integrate it into our conscious thinking – which then, as the nature of reality dictates, will automatically become our realities. ** Hope you can join us, friends. What's more heavenly than a weekend immersed in Seth?! :-)
Dateline October 11, 2009: WHERE HAVE ALL THE SETH GROUPS GONE, LONG TIME PASSING...
As we've said before, Seth groups are the heart of the Sethian community. They pump continuing life and vigor into the minds and souls of Seth readers everywhere. Over the past decade they've been in decline, as evidenced by comparing groups listed in SNI's magazine of the 1990s, Reality Change: The Global Seth Journal, to those from that list that still exists. However, signs are beginning to sprout of their re-emergence. In Seth Groups/Networks, three listings are all about attempting to start new groups in Paris, Santa Cruz (California) and Minneapolis (Minnesota). We encourage anyone remotely interested to, through a listing, test the potential for your area, without a commitment to go further. Let Seth readers who live in your community contact you and just see where the probabilities take you. ** Go Seth!
Dateline October 9, 2009: WORLD'S FIRST SETH-BASED GAME
The creativity of Seth folks around the globe never ceases to amaze. Here's a sample we thought you'd appreciate. Designed by Yvonne Buonamici of Austin, TX, SethWorld is a totally new concept in gaming. Quoting from Yvonne's listing in Seth-Influenced Businesses: "It is a metaphysically based, completely open-ended game with no winners, no losers, and NO RULES! It is designed so that the players can create the game in the same manner we create our realities -- individually and en masse. The purpose of the game is to explore and uncover your beliefs, while having fun and stretching yourself creatively." Keep in mind that Christmas is just around the corner, Sethies!
Dateline October 1, 2009: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HAPPY 10,000th VISITOR!
Happy birthday to us all, folks! July 1 was our site launch date, and just today - exactly three months later - we logged in our 10,000th visitor! Coincidences and probabilities - marvelous constructs, aren't they? It's been a fun journey through those coincidences and probabilities, and it's our distinct pleasure to share that journey forward with so many global Seth readers. You guys are sincerely appreciated, and with us pulling together we truly CAN create the dream of a strong international Seth network. - Go, Seth!
Dateline October 1, 2009: MEET LAUREL DAVIES-BUTTS
Laurel Davies-Butts, Rob's second wife, lives in Sayre, Pennsylvania, where she and Rob spent many of their 23 years together after moving from Elmira, New York. She was instrumental in helping Rob prepare various books for publication over the years, as well as copying huge amounts of documents for the Yale archives and, in general, assisting with the Seth material. Recently we asked Laurel if she would consider writing whatever came to mind at the moment about Rob and her life with him. Gracious as always, Laurel's letter to all of us is included in Seth-Based Articles, along with a photo of her with Rob.
Dateline September 30, 2009: SETH AND WORLD BUSINESS
Seth readers are all over the globe and in all sorts of careers. We've enjoyed watching our directory of Seth-Friendly Businesses grow, and thought we'd bring a new one to your attention because of its unique focus on all things film. Sonic Voyage, of Rotterdam, Netherlands, makes high-end audiovisual productions, TV shows, films, commercials, video-clips and 3d animations. It's completely full-service, including movie-scoring, music production and post-production. If you get a chance, go to their listing and click on their website. Very professional, very "today," very impressive. The English version will be up and running soon!
Dateline September 15, 2009: SNI ANNOUNCES FOUR 2010 SETH INTENSIVE WORKSHOPS
Big news from SNI! We just posted info about four 2010 Seth intensive weekend workshops, titled "Trust and its Pivotal Role in Conscious Creation." We'll be taking our workshop to the San Francisco Bay area, Boston, Portland, and Los Angeles. Until our website pages are finished, you can read about the workshops in Workshops. Those of you from SNI of the 1990s, remember our very successful Consciously Creating Change workshops? Our new one is fashioned along similar lines, as you'll see in the write-up.
Jerry Parmer, of Parmer Books in San Diego, California, recently received a for-sale consignment from Tam Mossman, Jane's editor at Prentice Hall and an observer at several of the Seth sessions and classes. The initial material Parmer Books received consisted of carbon copies of Seth sessions typed by Rob, a copy of a letter to Rob from Prentice Hall after Jane's death, releasing him from one of her future book contracts, two winter landscape paintings by Jane, and some writings by Jane, including an outtake from Oversoul Seven. It also included several photocopies of ESP class sessions, typed at the time by a class attendee from tape recordings and distributed to several people, and other materials not noted here. Some of the items have been sold, but others are still available. Please go to Seth-Influenced Media for further info.
As familiar as some of us are with the fact that copies of much of the Seth material is archived at Yale University, many still have not heard about it. Therefore, we've published a document in Seth-Based Articles that starts like this: "What does it take to become one of the most visited bodies of work in the Yale University Library archives? It takes being the Seth/Jane/Rob material." Indeed, as you'll read in the article, Jane's work is annually rated in the top ten collections visited - and there are 1,700 collections in the archives, many by world-renowned figures. (Go Seth!) We've also listed two Yale websites that give you info on what items of Jane's are now in the archives, and hours, directions, etc. if you plan to visit.
Dr. Elisabet Sahtouris, evolution biologist, futurist and author, recently posted a fascinating must-read in Seth-Based Articles. It's titled "Consciousness as the Source of All Reality," and we'll let Elisabet's intro speak for itself: "After the Introduction in the attached document, written by myself as ‘Joseph Trebur’s words, this ‘speech’ is actually by Seth via Jane Roberts, who was called Rubert by Seth, a name I spelled backwards to make Trebur, while Joseph is the name Seth called Jane's husband Rob. I did this to try Seth’s concepts out on some scientists by pretending the lecture was given by a live speaker at Yale University, where all the Seth material is actually archived, to make it more credible to them. The ‘lecture and Q&A’ are a composite of only slightly edited, some reordered, quotes from The Nature of Personal Reality by Jane Roberts, 1974, the year I gave to this event. The Q&A questions are mine; the answer are Seth’s."
Dateline August 30, 2009: 1st CONFERENCE OF SETH/JANE ROBERTS, PARIS, FRANCE, 2010
We were very pleased to hear from Francois de Mecquenem that he is planning the 1st Conference of Seth/Jane Roberts in Paris on June 7, 2010. He will be releasing details later, but we wanted you to know about this major event now. If you'd like to communicate with Francois, his email is

Dateline August 29, 2009: SPREADING SETH TO CHINESE SPEAKERS: MEET SUNNY PAI
We first heard of Sunny Pai last month. She's an amazing Taiwan-born woman living near Toronto in Markham, Ontario, with ties to mainland China. Sunny has been reading Seth for five years and has already started a Seth group for Chinese-speaking folks in Markham. And quite interestingly, she travels to Zhuhai, China, two months every year to give hypnosis seminars, and while she has to be somewhat cautious, she works Seth into them and calls them "Mind, Body, and Soul." To read more about Sunny, look under Seth-Based Articles (where we've uploaded an intro to her background); Seth Groups (Chinese Speakers); Blogs and Discussion Groups (Chinese Speakers); Seth-Friendly Businesses (where her hypnosis company is listed), and our Gallery (under Seth Groups, Chinese Speaking). * You go, gal!
Dateline August 20, 2009: SETHNET MAIL LIST RETURNS TO SNI
In 1998, the original Seth Network launched the SethNet mail list, managed by volunteer Paul Helfrich. With the closing of the original SNI in 1999 upon co-founder Stan Ulkowski's death, we offered the list to Paul, and thankfully he accepted. Under Paul's auspices it flourished as an aspect of NewWorldView, bringing many thousands of Seth readers together over the last 10 years. Now that NewWorldView is changing focus, Paul has decided to close the list. In a very graceful gesture, he has returned the SethNet mail list name and structure to the hands of the new SNI for future development, if desired. Our sincere thanks to you, Paul! It feels as though a progeny of thought has returned home.
Dateline August 20, 2009: UPDATE ON TAIWAN SETH EDUCATION FOUNDATION
